What was the battle of Okinawa?
Okinawa was the largest invasion of the Pacific and the last battle of the Pacific war. Deaths totaled to more than 12,000 killed or missing and 38,000 Americans wounded. More than 107,000 Japanese and Okinawan were killed, and about 100,000 Okinawan civilians died. The Battle of Okinawa was one of the most important battles of WWII because it not only changed the face of the war, but redefined history.
